Immigration Diary: Recruitment Cycle In Australia

I understand that the recruitment cycle in Australia is 4-6 weeks. Which means that an application that you submitted for a job may remain active for as long as 6 weeks or even more. Please keep a record of positions you have applied for. I suggest creating folders for every job, save the CV and cover letter that you sent and also copy/screenshot the job post so that you have the job description when the ad is taken down after the closing date. If you filled an online form, make sure you have copied answers before clicking the submit button.

You do not want to sound lost if you receive a call from a company that you applied in 6 weeks ago.

It is also a good idea to call and check after a week or so if the company has received your application. Sometimes you will get an answer and sometimes you will not. But, there is no harm in following up.
