Presents & Gifts Ideas for Year End

October is almost over and with that we just have 2 months to go for this year to end! Time is flying for sure! Year end brings a lot of excitement; holidays, trips, gifts, greetings and of course sales in most parts of the world. One of the things that I love to do is exchange year end presents. Nothing huge - a small token of appreciation for your colleagues, teammates, managers, friends and acquaintances for being there for you.

But, choosing what to gift is a big struggle since you are not that close to everyone to know their taste and choices. We all want to gift people things that they would utilise and not throw away. Although, chocolates and candies make a good present but sometimes it really means a lot when someone puts in a bit more thought in buying gifts. I have made a concise list of things that I think can be gifted as little tokens of appreciation; will not cost you a bomb and hopefully will not be thrown away.

Hand Lotions:

Face creams and lotions are very personal things and I know many people do not like to experiment with what they put on their face. Hand lotion, however, is something that can be used without much care. I love it when people give me hand lotions as they never go waste.

My pick are these hand lotions from Crabtree & Evelyn that are really presentable, perfect size to go in a purse and really good quality too. Crabtree & Evelyn has sometimes good discounts and promotions on their stuff. Watch out for it and buy these whenever you find a good bargain.

Body Lotions

Body lotions also make a good gift. It is a bit more personal in my opinion so I give it to closer friends and buddies. I always use every lotion that I get unless it is really bad quality. I dab it after shower, before sleeping, sometimes to remove make up if my make up remover is finished or just to massage. A body lotion given to me is never wasted.

My pick are these  body lotions from Bath & Body Works where you have a huge variety to choose the fragrance and flavours. Plus, if you go during sales, the promotion packages and deals are great. The bottles are very presentable and quality is also good.

Personalized Passport Holders & Other Stuff

For those people that you would like to give something a bit more personalized, these passport holders are one of the best gifts. You can get names written on them for absolutely no cost. There are other things available too like key chains, purses, toiletry pouches and wallets. These make great presents for men and women both.

You can choose the colour you want, embellishments you like and how and where to place the name etc.

'Juize By Five' in Malaysia is one shop that does this. They have a stall in Publika and Empire Shopping Gallery.

Jewelry:

Girls who love to wear jewelry are the easiest people to gift something. I know that you can never have enough jewelry. I love the choices you have in jewelry shops like  Diva or Lovisa where you can find something for every age group.

I usually shop from Lovisa which is an international chain with shops all over the world. You check out the website here. The variety and deals in Lovisa are really good.

Scarf

Trust me, a good scarf is a great present. I think nobody minds having a drawer full of colourful scarves that they can wear whenever they want to spice up their look. There are all kinds of scarves in accessory sections of most departmental stores. Plain, printed or knitted - these scarves are a lovely addition to any wardrobe.

Specially a scarf with a bit of traditional background makes it a very special present.

Tip:

Gift wrapping matters too! You can always add a personal touch by thoughtfully wrapping the gift. Here is a very good tutorial on how to make your own, cost effective, and cute gift bag.

Happy Shopping, guys!

  2. I love the personalized passport holder... so cute! For the others, I plan to make tgem myself for giveaways if I have the time like the lotions and jewelry. Otherwise, like you, I'll just buy them in bulk for giveaways. :)

  3. Lucky that it is easier to buy for girls than for men. There are so many cute choices for females but so limited for men. Can you suggest a list of small practical gifts for men (not handkerchiefs or keychains)?

  4. Thanks for these gift ideas. I'd prefer scarf because I can get as many of these and I still wouldn't mind. I smiled seeing hand lotion and body lotion at the top of the list because I receive lots of these during the holidays. :-)
