Hubby's Birthday at Yellow Apron

This year my best friend, my hubby, turned 40 (MashAllah). We normally do not exchange gifts on birthday nor we believe in big celebrations. But, I thought 40 is a milestone - marking not only his birthday but also the fact that we have been married for 10 years now. So, I decided to a throw a little party with close friends as I don't have any family living in Malaysia just to break our own unspoken rules :D.I normally host dinners at home but his birthday, 25th Jan 2017, was right in the middle of week giving me really a tough schedule to cook and plan everything. I find it more fun to celebrate the birthday on the actual day, so, I decided to do it at a restaurant so that we both can also enjoy the party without having to worry about cooking and serving.

I started searching for a good restaurant which had good food, good ambience and good rates. I contacted a few that I had been to before. One thing that all service providers should remember is the efficiency of service. Some forgot to email me at all, some were too rigid about their rules, some expensive beyond belief. Yellow Apron  at Petaling Jaya, Malaysia offered me a complete package. I loved the ambience of the place, food was also great but winner was the efficient service, follow up, detailed discussions, in other words peace of mind that their event manager, Stephanie Yim, provided me. She was accommodating to all my changes and plans....  even the last minute ones.

We booked half of the restaurant for our 30 guests.

The restaurant is equipped with comfortable sofas, long tables and chairs which was perfect seating style for casual evening with friends. I did not want the dinner to be formal. The space was big enough to keep the children entertained. They ran around and played happily.

Food was served in buffet style at one corner which included Chicken Fried Rice Mamak Style, Beef Lasagne, Chicken and Mushroom Pie and Spicy Mushroom Olio with Chicken. Plus Kale salad with Cranberries, Walnut and Feta Cheese. When the guests arrived they were served thin homemade potato chips with 3 different dips, Pesto Bruschetta and Tuna Salad Canape. There was free flow of Iced Lemon tea and Lipton tea. Desserts included the Chocolate Nutella birthday cake and Banoffee Pie!

Everyone loved the food, comfort of the venue and also ease of parking at the restaurant which is big plus! Hubby and I fully enjoyed the whole party without having to worry about anything. The food was cooked fresh before serving unlike a lot of restaurants that told us that food will be prepared and served in dishes before the birthday starts.

Best of all, they also accommodated my friends who needed a bit of private space to offer prayers.

Yellow Apron is strongly recommended restaurant and is ideal for any parties, family or corporate. They have a private place on the first floor that you can fully occupy or the one downstairs that we booked. They also have a meeting room fully equipped with projector if you want to have an offsite meeting!

The menu includes a big variety of Malaysian and western food but you can also discuss options with them for dishes off the menu when you book the place for an event!

All in all, we are really happy with the full deal and how everything was done. A memorable day for both of us!
