My hand knitted Gift

Mum visited me last month and I took time off from blogging to spend with her. Mum has been to Malaysia quite a lot and has seen most of the touristy things. So she wanted this trip to be a relaxed one where she hoped to unwind and rest. She asked us not to plan any short trips, picnics, parties or shopping sprees as we always do when she is here. Instead, she just wanted to go slow, watch TV, have long conversations, and eat her Malaysian favourites. A few shopping trips sneaked here and there (unavoidable they are, I tell you!) and we took her to all her favourite places to eat and watched movies.....  but, on most days, Mum and I just sat together and talked about everything under the sun with cups of Kashmiri chai or doodh patti in our hands just like two best friends do! I did not want her vacation to end but time flies by so fast! She went back last Thursday

Fasting Month - 8 Day Prep Plan

Yes, Ramazan (the fasting month) is a month away (InshaAllah) but how I look at it, it is only 8 days as I just have 4 two-day-weekends before my favourite month starts! (leaving this weekend) I need to do some preps and having a full time job leaves me with only weekends to do extra chores around the house.

Airfryer - Frying but no frying

Airfryer, if you still haven't heard about it, is this magical fryer that uses rapid air technology to fry whatever you desire with little or no oil at all! Air becomes the new oil! I own a PhilipsAirfryer as it is the best airfryer in market as Philips patented this technology.

We know that all good things in life are illegal, married to someone else, fattening or fried ;). With an airfyer you don't have to give up your favourite fried foods at least! What else do you want in life? Nowadays when you don't have time and energy to cook, an airfryer is one of the best ways to get healthy food with less hassle.

I always say that what you can do with an airfryer depends on how creative you are in your kitchen. But, if you are not a cooking genius like me, you can still fry, cook, bake, grill .... all with this one gadget. With airfryer in my house, oil consumption has really reduced but my snacking is still going really strong .... ;)

What's in your Fridge?

Do you often go to your refrigerator and find nothing to eat? Happens with me all the time! I look at all the things I pick up from grocery stores and try to fix something to eat but something or the other is always missing. The other day I casually mentioned this to Rubab Arif - my first guru for the blog, an expert not only in traditional Pakistani cooking but all kinds of cuisines. It is a great skill to perfectly cook dishes with such variant tastes and styles. I think that is one of her biggest quality. She is super innovative in her kitchen and her cooking is always finger licking good.

At her house, with a cup of tea in her hand, she casually gave me amazing and practical tips to satisfy my untimely hunger pangs. I have tried them all and they are a life saver! Less time and effort in kitchen and yet a healthy and hearty meal at home! Saves time, money and energy.

I decided to do this post to make sure you all spend less time in kitchen and more on reading my blog :).

Before I give you the tips, let me tell you that Rubab shares her treasured recipes and tips on Facebook through her recently launched page Rubab's Treasure Box. Trust me, it is a page full of treasures!

So, if you have already counted the things in your refrigerator, see if it matches with the list of my guru which is very concise and practical list. This list will also help you plan your grocery and do a week’s cooking in advance if you are a lazy and forever hungry person like me! And your trips to the fridge will be fun :)

You must have in your fridge:
